Why was Trimly created and why not use Light Session?

ChatGPT gets slow after long conversations. After a while it starts lagging and feels heavy to use. That is the main reason Trimly exists.

Light Session is a solid project, but some parts did not work the way I wanted. So I forked it, fixed those issues, and made it smoother for my own workflow.

Who is Trimly for?
  • People who keep very long ChatGPT threads (100+ messages)
  • Developers using ChatGPT for debugging, code reviews, or long refactors
  • Anyone whose ChatGPT tab starts slowing down over time
Does Trimly store my chats or send data anywhere?

No. Trimly runs locally in your browser and only changes what stays visible in the page DOM.

Will Trimly delete my conversation history?

No. It only hides older turns in the current page view for performance. Your chat history still exists in your account.

What happens if I disable Trimly?

All messages are restored in the page immediately, so you can view the full thread again without losing content.

Is Trimly available for Firefox and Chrome?

Yes. Trimly supports both Firefox and Chrome builds.
